The moment Eva was fired from news hour has always stayed with her. The presenter therefore had to struggle for a while to regain her place. Fortunately, my editor-in-chief of the NOS gave me my job back as a newsreader, but that meant that I had to read the news several times a week in the studio of news hour, next to the one who news hour presented.” She continues: “I felt like someone else was sitting in my place every night.”
Eva had to ‘make every effort’ to do that, she says. “I had to put all my pride and ego away. I really had to step over a threshold.” Still, she is happy that she finally took that step. “Of course I was fired, so I should have been happy to have a job again.”

The presenter has now come back three times as hard from this setback. But the presenter is still always afraid of losing her job. “I never think lightly.” When Özcan asked if she thinks she can still be fired any day, Eva replies: “Yes, actually. It could be over in a minute.” “I never consider myself rich and I probably got that from my father,” she continues.
