The European Super League continues to have more enemies, this time there are 3 more clubs from the English Premier League.

City confirmed this Thursday that it is not interested in the European Super League and that it is committed to UEFA competitions.

The Manchester team recalled that in 2021 it began legal procedures to leave the European Super League, which it entered as one of the founding members along with 5 other English teams: Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Tottenham and Liverpool.

“Our position has not changed. We remain committed to working with our ECA colleagues and participating in UEFA competitions,” City said in a statement.

The ‘citizen’ team and United were the first to speak out on the matter and have recently been joined by Chelsea and Tottenham. The ‘blues’ and the ‘spurs’ showed their rejection of the creation of the competition.

“Following the ruling of this Thursday, December 21, by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on the European Super League (ESL), we would like to confirm that our position has not changed. We remain committed to the values ​​of European football and will continue to work with other clubs through the ECA and participating in UEFA competitions”, reads the ‘spurs’ letter.

“The ruling issued today by the European Court of Justice does not change Chelsea’s position. We firmly believe that, working with the Premier League, the FA and other European clubs through our strong relationship with the ECA, and with UEFA and the FIFA, we can, together, continue developing European football for the benefit of all,” says the Blues’ statement.
