After submitting their manifesto “Citizen’s Opinion on the European Union” to President François Sauvadet at the beginning of May, the Youth Departmental Councilors presented yesterday, Wednesday June 7, their work to Arnaud Danjean, MEP, during a trip to the European Parliament. in Strasbourg. Accompanied by Catherine Louis, vice-president of the Departmental Council in charge of Youth and Education, the young elected officials once again demonstrated the sense of responsibility and civic engagement that drives them.

“As we had committed ourselves to, we submitted to MEP Arnaud Danjean our citizens’ opinion which contains concrete proposals to respond to major European challenges such as agriculture, defence, the fight against global warming or even the safeguarding of values ​​of democracy” summed up the young elected officials in chorus.

Throughout their mandate, they worked hard and did not hide their satisfaction at seeing this project succeed in the European Parliament, presenting their own manifesto to Arnaud Danjean. The latter did not hide his enthusiasm either to see these young Côte-d’Oriens also involved in civic life!

The young departmental advisers also had the opportunity to visit the Struthof memorial, a concentration camp and place of remembrance where emotion was palpable, guided by Françoise Elloy, secretary general of the sponsorship committee of the National Resistance and the deportation.

Before returning their scarf as young departmental councilors at the end of the school year, the elected officials will still shine this weekend during the VYV festival, which will be held from Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June at the Parc de la Combe in la Serpent in Corcelles-les-Monts, to raise public awareness of bullying and discrimination of all kinds. Beyond the distribution of clips they made during their mandate, young people will participate in workshops to testify to these issues, which are still far too prevalent among college students.

They will meet one last time in plenary assembly on Wednesday June 22 at the Hôtel du Département in Dijon. A last session where they will be thanked for the very positive results of their three years of mandate, with this permanent concern to act in the service of the Côte-d’Oriens.
