After several months of waiting, millions of fans around the world will finally be able to enjoy the long-awaited biopic of Amy Winehouse, “Back to Black,” in movie theaters starting this Thursday, April 11, with the exception of the United Kingdom, now which, by decision of the producers, was planned to be released a day later to coincide with the beginning of the weekend.

The film directed by English filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, with a script by Matt Greenhalgh and starring Marisa Abela, will tell the first years of life of the singer who unfortunately lost her life at the age of 27 in 2011, after being confirmed in the forensic report that the cause was accidental alcohol poisoning.

Reissue of “Tears Dry on Their Own”

Among the highlights of the audiovisual production, the creators announced that exclusive images of Amy Winehouse can be seen. In addition, the video “Tears Dry on Their Own”, considered one of the best of her short career, was re-edited by David LaChapelle, with never-before-seen illustrations of the British Soul and R&B icon.


The soundtrack of “Back To Black Songs From The Original Motion Picture”, will have original recordings of the debut album “Frank” and the famous “Back To Black”. It will also include a new song, “Song for Amy,” sung by Nick Cave.

The album will also feature songs by artists who were an inspiration for Amy, The Shangri-Las, Billie Holiday, Minnie Riperton, Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughan, and whose voices appear at key moments in the film.

The story will detail Amy’s relationship with her parents, her toxic relationship with her boyfriend, her creative processes, her rise to fame and of course, the decline of her artistic and personal life due to her strong addictions, which were the main cause of her death. on July 23, 2011.
