Man is a goal animal. Erling Haalang, killer in the box, scored five times against Luton in the FA Cup, on a nightmare night for the small Kenilworth Road team: 2-6 for Manchester City.
The numbers are impressive and demonstrate the power of this monster of physical and technical capacity. 79 goals in 83 official games since arriving at City and the second time he has been capable of a monstrosity – allow us to be pleonasm – like this: five goals in a single game.

Now, for the story to be complete, it remains to be said that Mateo Kovacic scored City’s sixth goal in the 72nd minute. Haaland scored his five between minutes 3 and 58.
On Luton’s side, Jordan Clark scored both goals, one of them with an extraordinary kick from outside the area. But on a night like Erling Haaland’s, it’s likely that no one would have noticed.
Matheus Nunes and Bernardo Silva were starters in the Manchester City team and important in qualifying for the quarter-finals, as were Ricardo Pereira (substitute used) and Wanya Marçal (starter) in Leicester’s hard-fought victory em casa do Bournemouth: 0-1.
The game was resolved by Fatawu, a left-footed player on loan from Sporting, with a fantastic shot from outside the area. It’s worth seeing.
