Erling Braut Haaland, Football | Large newspaper:

Daily Mail reports Friday tonight that Manchester City is about to win the battle for the signature of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland.

The newspaper writes that the Premier League club will have an agreement in place to bring the Norwegian striker to Etihad this summer. Personal conditions must be discussed and the framework for a transfer must be ready to be signed by City’s owners.

So far, only the Daily Mail has made these allegations. Viaplay reporter Jan Åge Fjørtoft, who has followed Haaland closely in recent years, reports via his Tiwtter account that “there is nothing new to report” about the 21-year-old’s next club.

– 1.17 billion kroner

Haaland will have a buyout clause of around 63 million pounds in his contract with the German club, but it is expected that the striker’s agent, controversial Mino Raiola, will also have a significant bonus for his role in the transfer.

According to the Daily Mail, these sums, as well as a signing bonus, will take the price of the Norwegian star up to 100 million pounds in total – around 1.17 billion Norwegian kroner.

The newspaper further claims that Manchester City should have earmarked funds to complete such an agreement and that Haaland is their first priority in the transfer market this summer.

Barcelona and PSG have also shown interest in the former Molde player, but it has long been Real Madrid who have been seen as the favorite to sign Haaland.

Now, however, it may look like it is City who are sailing up as the favorite in this match. Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, has a past playing in Manchester City.

Guardiola hunts forward

City manager Josep Guardiola recently admitted at a press conference that he wants a striker into the gate at the Etihad and then Haaland is a natural man to look at.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has netted 80 goals in 79 games for the Bundesliga team and is recorded with 149 goals in 190 games in his senior career.

Haaland started his career in Bryne, before going to Molde, where he worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjær. He was then sold to Austrian Red Bull Salzburg. There, the Norwegian striker made a name for himself in the Champions League.

In the winter of 2019, he was ready for German Borussia Dortmund and after the transfer, Haaland has continued to play big and replaced goals for the signal yellows.

This has made him one of the most sought after players in the world.
