‘The smartest person in the world’ presenter Erik Van Looy is fully engaged in the search for new candidates for the coming season of the popular TV quiz. He already has three of them.

“I’ve been trying to get Sandra Bekkari and Laura Tesoro in the quiz for years and I’m very happy that it worked out,” says Erik Van Looy. Thursday night he has the first three names of the upcoming season of The smartest person in the world discharged at The Cooke & Verhulst show. “Laura is a great singer, cheerful and disarming, who can also present and dance exceptionally. Our jury has already promised to turn their seat with every correct answer and I predict that this could happen very often with Laura. ”

“Sandra is a cook again, and they are difficult to attract because of their busy schedule. But Sandra, one of the most successful cookbook authors in Flanders (She wrote the series ‘No more diets’, ed.), luckily made some time for our quiz. ”

We also look forward to the arrival of Dorian Liveyns. He may receive mental support from the jury, because he is the other half of James Cooke. “Dorian saw a lot of work being lost as a musical actor, but if he used that time to study, then we are dealing with a big contender. He was already punished on our cafe test. James has also promised me to walk around the studio naked twice as much as he does The smartest person is becoming. I don’t know whether Dorian will do his best as a result. ”
“Much stress”
Dorian especially hopes that James will be there during his first episode. “He would put me at ease and make my worst stress go away. Although I know he will be even more stressed than I am, ”he says. “Erik asked me a few months ago. I was very surprised. But I first doubted to say yes. I quickly get a lot of stress. James also advised me against it. he feared the hellish, stressful months to come. (laughs) Now that I have promised, I mainly think: what the hell did I get into?”
Why then did he say yes? “I am a big fan of the program and of Erik. Mom used to always allow me to stay up late to watch and quiz. That makes it very special now to be able to play. I have already bought three encyclopedias for children to prepare. And the app and the board game of the quiz are also daily fare from now on. ” That also means practicing with James. Which of the two is the smartest in the house? “That is a difficult one. Let’s just say I have the most tidbits and James is the wisest. So we complement each other well. ”
This fall we will know whether one of these three will succeed Cathérine Van Eylen as The smartest person on Play4.
