At the peak of the action, 15 fire brigades operated. The action has been going on since Saturday morning. Policemen from Brzeziny and employees of PERM – oil pipeline owner are also on site.
A few hundred meters from the road, a trench depth of two meters was found, and a valve from home was used to steal oil. There is probably a leak there. Oil could flow into groundwater and seriously contaminate it. It is also possible that recent rains flushed contaminants to the Rogów reservoir. The Płock-Koluszki oil pipeline crosses the Mrogi River valley here.

The “Brzeziny uncensored” page on Facebook informed about the ecological disaster in Rogów. Adam Biernat, president of the fishing club in Rogów, quoted by this fan page, says: – Anglers have alerted us to a huge oil stain on the tank. We have been the host of this reservoir for 15 years. This is a popular fishery and we are worried about whether the fish will die after this pollution. It’s a tragedy when it comes to nature. The reservoir will be closed for anglers until further notice.
Chemical PSP units from Łódź and Piotrków and the PERN rescue unit from Płock and Koluszki work on site. A special barrier to capture pollution was set up in Rogów. Similar absorption barriers were located in Kołacinek, Dmosin and Głowno.
Tons of oil in the river near Łódź
According to firefighters, pollution is 4.5 hectares of water on the Mroga River. Since the beginning of the campaign, it has managed to collect around 3.5 tons of a petroleum substance. However, there can be much more oil. The vast area smells a strong smell of oil and on both banks distant from the siena after over 200 meters. A huge stain of petroleum substance is visible on the tank.
Zbigniew Baranowski from the PERN Communication Department (a company dealing in the maintenance of oil pipelines and the transport of fuels by pipelines, including from Płock to Koluszki) confirms that there was a failure on the oil pipeline. It was caused by oil thieves who bore.
– Yesterday before noon (Saturday, June 27) we received information that in the town of Rogów Górka a trace of an oil derivative appeared on the local water reservoir – Zbigniew Baranowski reports for Fakt. – We took immediate action by going to the place of the incident, which is located near the Płock-Koluszki pipeline. After a detailed analysis, we already know that there was a leak in the pipeline at this point, which was caused by an illegal plug. The distribution of the product through the pipeline was immediately stopped and works on securing the bus are underway. After repair, fuel transmission will resume. The action of the services that collect the product from the reservoir is ongoing.
The pin, or illegal borehole on the pipeline, was made in a field, several hundred meters south of the Mrogi River Valley. It is not known how long oil has leaked into the soil and how much contamination the soil has.
The leak has already been reported to the Provincial Inspector for Environmental Protection in Łódź and policemen from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Koluszki.
