Entrepreneurs again less pessimistic, accommodation expects turnover growth NOW

The easing measures meant that Dutch entrepreneurs in June were less pessimistic about the expected turnover, the economic climate and the workforce. That writes the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Monday. It is the second month in a row that entrepreneurs are less pessimistic. Entrepreneurs were also more positive in May than in the previous month.

Accommodation providers in particular see a brighter future in the future. More than half of the accommodation providers expect to see their turnover increase again in the coming period. In May and April, the majority anticipated a significant drop in turnover. In retail, too, the majority expect to see an increase in turnover in the coming months. Both branches also see the economic climate improving in the coming months.

The prospects in the rest of the catering industry, ie restaurants and cafés, are less bad than in previous months, but remain largely negative. Due to the corona measures, many of these entrepreneurs can only partially open, which means that they are still loss-making. In some cases, the catering businesses are even kept closed, because opening leads to higher costs.

The travel industry, with travel agencies and other travel organizations, is among the most pessimistic group. Where every industry has less negative expectations on all fronts, the travel industry sees employment deteriorate in the coming months compared to the previous two months.
