‘Entire Cities Lost’, Sadness for the US Was Beaten by Ferocious Tornadoes

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – More than 50 tornadoes were reported in the United States (US) last weekend. Of the five, eight states are now reported to have been hit by the storm, which was called the worst in Uncle Sam’s history.

The country’s emergency agency estimates at least 100 lives have been lost as a result of the natural event. Kentucky was the worst-hit state with the most casualties.

This causes misery in the residents who are victims. Parspons-Perez still remembers bad memories when he and many workers trapped under the rubble of a candle factory in Mayfield, Kentucky, after being hit by a tornado Friday night.

“It happened so fast,” Parsons-Perez told CNN International describes a tornado-damaging attack launched at a factory.

“We were all just rocking, and then boom, it all fell on us.”

Parson-Perez himself tried to ask for help via Facebook Live. He screamed for help at that time.

“I don’t know who’s watching,” he said via Facebook, when his panicked co -worker was heard in the background.

“All of you please send us some help. We’re trapped. The walls are sticking to me.”

“No one can get us. All of you. Pray for us. Try and get someone to help us.”

He claimed to be grateful to God because he was still able to survive.

“Once I got out of there, I couldn’t do anything but thank God,” he said.

“That’s the only thing that saved me. It’s hard to believe that anyone would have left there.”

Meanwhile, other residents said the storm struck like a big bomb. This is according to Justin Shepherd, a coffee pot owner in the Bowling Green area of Mayfield.

“We had some damage to the walls and roof here, but right across the street is a brewery that’s half gone,” he was quoted as saying Reuters.

“It’s completely gone, like a big bomb going off or something.”

Steven Elder, another Mayfield resident said the tornado had “cut through the heart of the city”. The once beautiful square has disappeared.

The courthouse tower also collapsed. What remains, he says, are the rubble of what was once the soul of the city.

“Every historical building we have is above ground, churches that have been around for hundreds of years hundreds of years. It’s like a war zone or just something out of a movie,” Elder said.

“It will never look the same. The whole city is gone,” he said.

In addition to Kentucky, tornadoes were also reported to hit Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee. The winds tore down power lines, tore roofs of buildings and destroyed communities.

US President Joe Biden also declared a state of emergency for Kentucky and mobilized federal relief efforts for the 15 worst-hit areas. He promised to do the same to other states if the governor agreed.
