Headlines of the day
– The cumulative incidence in Spain this Friday rose 17 points and is located in the 323 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, so the country remains high risk of transmission. In addition, Health confirmed 17,012 new cases and 60 others deaths.
– The scientists have detected a new variant of the coronavirus that, a priori, would be more difficult to track due to its genetics and for their different behavior. This new sister lineage of Ómicron has been called BA.2 and has already been detected in South Africa, Australia and Canada, but it is not ruled out that it is found in more countries.
– Austria has lifted this Sunday the general confinement, although it will continue in force for the unvaccinated. There is still great hospital pressure, especially in ICUs. Those not vaccinated, as of February, face fines of 3,600 euros if they do not show up to get the doses.
