Entertainment Industry Grinds to a Halt as Actors and Writers Strike for New Contracts

The productions of Hollywood and promotional tours around the world have been suspended indefinitely as actors join writers on pickets for new contracts with studios and streaming services.

Late-night talk shows and many television productions have been put on long-term suspension due to the writers’ strike, and now many of the movie makings, some in the middle of production, are shutting down as well. This includes mega-productions such as the sequel to Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator,” with Paul Mescal and Peter Pascal“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part II” con Tom Cruiseand “Deadpool 3″ from Marvel and Disney, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, among others.

While there may not be an immediate effect on movie releases in the coming months, as many movies have already completed principal photography, those that will be released next year are another story and could change their release dates.
