Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis: Local news via app | Commune21

[18.5.2020] News from the Schwelmer district house and from the town halls of the municipalities belonging to the district can now be received directly via smartphone or tablet. The function is part of the new app of the Ennepe-Ruhr district.

All news from the Schwelmer district house and selected news from the town halls can now be delivered to the smartphone or tablet of citizens in the Ennepe-Ruhr district. According to the district administration, this is made possible by the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis app. Press spokesman Ingo Niemann explains: “Actually, the project was planned for late summer or early autumn. The aim was and is to bring our information and services to the citizens faster, more directly and more contemporary than before. In view of the Corona crisis, we have decided to implement the app now. We are certain: Administration and citizens will benefit from this additional communication channel in these times. “
If you install and open the app, you will see a clear navigation consisting of nine cubes. Anyone who taps them will find, among other things, municipal news, the services of the district administration and the e-government portal of the district and the municipalities.

About Corona

“Due to the corona pandemic, we have granted this topic our own dice until further notice,” informs Daniela Heiermann, data processing officer at the district administration. “We use it to report on the latest and background information about the virus and its consequences in a circle. In addition, the very successful project of the EN agency has found a place here with Ennepe-Ruhr-delivers. We have had it adapted to the app. “If you are looking for local delivery services, you can do this either on the corresponding website or via app in the future, according to the district administration.
Thanks to the push function, the app doesn’t have to hide behind the offers of other providers. “We can decide which of our messages will be particularly noticeable on the screen a few seconds after being sent. And of course the app users can decide whether they want to use the push function at all, ”explains Niemann.
The possible, very timely information is already a very interesting option in everyday life, in crises and danger situations it is an invaluable asset for the communication of the district administration with the citizens, according to the report from the North Rhine-Westphalian district.

Emergency pharmacy services in the area

The Würfel pharmacy emergency services also provide added value for the citizens. A card function shows which pharmacy has opened in the vicinity of its own location. The choice of the nearest pharmacy can be made across cities and districts using the card. With the now launched version and its offers, the district administration only sees itself at the beginning of its communication via app. Extensions are planned and possible at any time thanks to a modular system.
The same applies to the card function, which is also available: the district administration can add facilities and offers here, and citizens can select them according to the topic. Currently, for example, the district administration offices, town halls and clinics can be found in this way. As an extension to the classic map display, LiveGuide uses the camera and location function of the device if approved and displays the stored information in the user’s field of vision.
The app was created for the Ennepe-Ruhr district by cm citymedia from Bühlerzell. The company has implemented apps for more than 50 municipalities nationwide. In addition to Altenahr, Bad Friedrichshall, Baden-Baden, Emmendingen, Mühlacker and Sinzheim, Beverungen, Kalletal, Oerlinghausen and Senden / Westphalia also include four cities from North Rhine-Westphalia, the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis informed.
