Energy renovation: this Chartres resident has halved her electricity bill

Émilie Dauvilliers bought, in June 2019, a house in the Rechèvres district, in Chartres. “At the time, I had planned a budget of 10,000 € to carry out insulation work,” she recalls. “This envelope was not enough to cover all the work to be done, so I called on the services of Chartres Rénov’Habitat to advise me”.

Rémi Bizet, project manager at Soliha, came to take stock of the situation with the owner of this house in the 1970s. “Ideally, it would have been necessary to change the electric boiler, the doors and the windows, but also to insulate the floor, the walls and the ceiling”.

Despite the financial aid that Rémi Bizet obtained, Émilie Dauvilliers was not able to carry out all this work. “We decided to replace the boiler with a heat pump, to insulate the floor and to replace the doors and windows, by equipping them with roller shutters”.

€ 14,000 in grants

Carried out for a total amount of € 21,500, this work nevertheless benefited from € 14,000 in subsidies (€ 12,000 from the National Housing Agency, and € 2,000 from Chartres Métropole).

Started in December 2019, this work was completed in early 2020. “We have an energy gain of 50 to 60%,” says Rémi Bizet. “My electricity bill was respectively € 272 and € 301 in November and December 2019, it was only € 93 and € 118 in November and December 2020”.
