Eneco customers save considerably on energy: up to 25% less gas

Eneco has analyzed the consumption of its 2 million private customers since 1 September. Of the approximately 230,000 customers with a “smart thermostat”, Eneco knows that their home temperature is 1-2 degrees lower than in previous years. “But whether this holds up even when it gets colder, we will only know later,” a spokesperson said against the Volkskrant.

With 2 million customers, Eneco is the second largest energy supplier in the Netherlands. Together with Vattenfall and Essent, they control around 80% of the Dutch market.

At the end of last month, a variable energy contract was four times more expensive than a year earlier. In 2021, customers with average energy consumption would have lost € 1,637 per year. According to the Consumers’ Association, at the end of September this amount was on average € 7,200 per year, almost 340 percent more.
