End of hopes, Jislová will not come. Every breath hurts, sad. Sáblíková also comforted her

Oberhof (from our correspondent) ‑ The definitive stop Jislová was exposed by an examination by the renowned physiotherapist Pavel Kolář. “It hurts every time I take a breath, which is hard to combine with sports,” she sighed.

The 28-year-old biathlete’s problems with the intercostal muscles had been going on since Christmas, when she was struggling with a strong cough. The pain between the shoulder blades persisted, but the stable member of the Czech relay team completed yet more World Cups.

“It hurt her more in Ruhpolding, and the problem began to be solved through rehabilitation. There must have been a crack there from a cough or in the gym, and they don’t heal well, rather they get worse with every movement,” explained Roman Karpíšek, physiotherapist of the Czech team in Oberhof.

“After the sprint in Anterselva, she was already exhausted, twisted and had tears in her eyes. I was also afraid of a fatigue fracture, but the X-ray showed nothing,” says Karpíšek.

After a few days off, Jislová went to Ridnaun for the final preparation before the WC. “But again, harder training, she was out of breath, it hurt, tears and we drove home,” described the physiotherapist. Magnetic resonance also discovered a herniated disc, but according to him, this is not related to the problems.

The basis for treatment is rest, which is of course excluded with preparation for the peak of the season. Jislova’s condition did not improve, training rather hurt her. He will have another checkup on Sunday. “Nothing but peace will help me. More important for me than being able to be in Oberhof is to start training normally,” says Jislová.

“I haven’t been able to do that for a long time now, so it wouldn’t even make sense to go there. The last time I skied for a longer period of time was in Anterselva. Even if I miraculously got myself together, I can’t guarantee that I would perform something,” she knows.

New city? Rather not

The prospects for the home World Cup in Nové Město in Moravia from March 2 to 5 are also very uncertain. “I was already preparing her for the option that she would race in Östersund and Oslo,” Karpíšek admits. mix in Nové Město and no one would have guessed it,” recalls Rybář.

Jislová is naturally depressed, but she also received encouragement from one of the biggest Czech sports stars. “Martina Sáblíková wrote to me that every athlete will encounter something like this. The basis is not to go crazy and do things that there is no time for otherwise,” he plans.

Thanks to the new rule of the international federation, even five female competitors can enter the race, if the given country has a competitor in the top 15 SP. Markéta Davidová fulfills this for Czech women, and thus the invitation also arrived for Vinklárková.

“When we found out that it probably wouldn’t work with Jessica, Terka was ready at home and knew that she could come at any time. She was in New Town, but it’s not that far. He is on his way here,” reported Rybář on Thursday afternoon.
