The attempted theft of a vehicle in the Central Highway, in Santiago, ended with a person in a street situation deceased.
The event occurred at the height of Vivaceta, heading north, when criminals who were aboard two vehicles tried to “lock him up” to another car that was traveling on the same road.
During the maneuver, one of the assailants’ vehicles ran over a person in a street situation who was crossing a non-authorized crossing. The man was also hit by the car of the robbery victim, and ended up dying at the scene.
“I take the highway and a tinted vehicle comes, a white Toyota Tercel, without a license. It snaps me, it brakes, I brake too, and I see that it makes a super fast maneuver. At that moment beats a person, a homeless man who was crossing with a supermarket cart“, said the assaulted driver.
“The other vehicle hits the car and, on it, I hit it too,” admitted the driver, who was detained, while the dynamics of the event were fully clarified.
