Berlin.

The approximately 7,800 employees of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO) will receive more money. Your payments will increase retrospectively to January 1 by 2.8 percent, as the regional church announced on Wednesday. In addition, a one-time payment of EUR 450 for employees in lower pay groups and EUR 350 for employees in higher pay groups was agreed. Representatives of the church leadership as well as the trade unions involved in the collective bargaining assessed the agreement as a good compromise, all sides had moved towards each other.

The collective bargaining agreement is still subject to the approval of church and trade union bodies, but this is considered certain. The EKBO area includes Berlin, large parts of Brandenburg and Upper Lusatia in Saxony. (dpa)
