Emirates news agency – Emirates win best pavilion award at International Dates Forum in Morocco

Erfoud, October 29, WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, presented the UAE Pavilion by winning the 1st place in the International Dates Forum in Erfoud to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Presidential Office in appreciation of His Highness’ support for the palm plantation and date production sector at the level national, regional and international.

He claimed that this victory did not come out of the void, but was a natural result of the UAE’s great efforts, thanks to the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him” , developing the date palm sector on a national, regional and international level.

This was stated in a press release to His Excellency, following the announcement that last night the UAE pavilion won first place among the countries participating in the International Barfoud Dates Forum in the Kingdom of Morocco in its eleventh session, at the presence of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Draa-Tafilalet region, Mohamed Benalal.

The forum was hosted by the city of Erfoud in the Rashidiya region of the Kingdom of Morocco in the period from 27 to 30 October under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco and was inaugurated by His Excellency Mohamed Seddiqi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Forests and Rural Development, in the presence of Her Excellency Maryam Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, and Her Excellency Al-Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Rabat, His Excellency Dr. Abdel Wahab Zayed, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Prize for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.

Dr. Abdel Wahab Zayed confirmed that the UAE has reached a new milestone to add to their gold record in supporting and developing the palm plantation and date production sector, after winning the first placed as the best and most luxurious pavilion among the countries participating in the forum.

He added that the official UAE delegation that attended this year’s forum was the largest in the history of participating in the award eleven years ago. The participation of the Emirates, under the supervision of the General Secretariat of the Khalifa International Prize for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, was a prominent sign among the international delegations participating in the forum.

The UAE delegation that attended the forum was composed of: Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, Agthia Company represented by Dates Factory (Al Foah), Friends of the Palm Society, Khatt Dates Factory, Nawader Company for Food Industries, International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, as well as Women’s Union, Liwa Dates Company, Emirates Dates Company and Al Ain Technology Laboratory Plant bios and nurseries.
