Emergency Services Rush to Scene Following Gas Leak Report – One Person Hospitalized

Large resources from the emergency services rushed to the scene. One person has been taken to hospital.

The emergency services responded on Saturday evening after a report of a possible gas leak from a private address in Løbergsveien at Solheim in Bergen.

Several people had reported discomfort.

A number of ambulances, several fire engines and police cars are on the scene. Some officers checked boss bins outside the apartment in question.

No results found

The police report at 19.28 that the fire service has been inside the apartment in question and carried out measurements.

– No impact on dangerous substances/gases. A man in his 20s has been taken to Haukeland hospital by ambulance. No one else was injured, the police write on X.

Helge Lund at the 110 central tells BT at 19.35 that the fire service has found no signs of gas.

– We have been inside the house, without finding anything. The fire brigade is in the process of demobilising. Now we check and clear, he says.

He says that the fire service took the report that came in very seriously.

– It was a dramatic message that came to us, that’s why we went wide, says the guard commander.

The emergency services have responded with large resources.

The public was requested to keep their distance from the address.

– More than one person has reported a need for health care, operations manager Dan Erik Johannessen told BT.

– We will try to avoid traffic, both walking and driving, towards the area. It is a densely built-up area, so it is difficult to reach everyone, he said.

Helge Lund at the 110 central said that they received a message at 18.44.

For a short period, a safety zone of 300 meters was set up. At 19.26 the 110 central reported that this had been cancelled.

– Chemical divers from Laksevåg are on their way to try to find out what gas it is, said Lund.
