Despite the breaching of corporate code and governance, the board chose not to initiate any investigations nor document any concerns in connection to Elon Musk’s drug habits, as highlighted in the Wall Street Journal report. While a Delaware judge’s recent ruling deemed Musk’s $55 billion compensation package excessive, it also denounced the directors for their conflicts of interest and flawed relationship with the influential figure.

Neither Elon Musk nor his attorney, Alex Spiro, has provided a response or addressed the Wall Street Journal’s request for comments on the drug-related allegations. In a previous report, the newspaper had documented Musk’s purported use of LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms—mainly during private gatherings. On this matter, however, Spiro had affirmed that Musk consistently underwent random drug tests at SpaceX with flawless results.

Some individuals close to Musk, including friends and directors, expressed their alleged involvement in drug consumption due to fears of upsetting the influential entrepreneur.
