At the close of trading Monday, Elon Musk’s assets reached US$203.4 billion or equivalent to Rp. 2.889 trillion (assuming Rp. 14,200/US$). Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos’ assets fell to US $ 197.7 billion, as quoted from Forbes, Wednesday (29/9/2021).
Elon Musk’s fortune is closely tied to Tesla, which as of Monday’s close of trading had a market cap of more than $792 billion. Elon Musk owns one-fifth of Tesla’s shares. In 2020 Tesla’s stock price has increased 720% making Elon Musk’s fortune add US $ 125 billion in a year.
In addition, his fortune comes from SpaceX, the company that manufactures space rockets, which is valued at US$74 billion after its February funding round.
