(San Francisco = Yonhap News) Correspondent Taejong Kim = Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on the 8th (local time) that he had used Apple’s recently released mixed reality (MR) headset Vision Pro.

On this day, Musk posted this on his social media X (formerly Twitter) and wrote a brief comment.

“(Vision Pro) doesn’t feel like it’s finished yet,” he said. “I tried Vision Pro, but it didn’t blow away for me.”

It wasn’t as impressive as expected.

However, Musk mentioned the iPhone and expressed expectations that Vision Pro will be able to improve in the future.

“It was the same with the iPhone 1,” he said. “Considering everything, (the iPhone 1) was less useful than other products.”

At the same time, Musk said, “But with the iPhone 3, it has unequivocally become the best ‘smartphone’.”

Musk did not mention specifically when he used Vision Pro and what he particularly liked or found inconvenient.

Vision Pro is a new product released by Apple nine years after the Apple Watch launched in 2015, and is attracting attention in the market.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “The iPhone introduced us to mobile computers, and the Mac introduced us to personal computers,” and “Vision Pro is the first space computer.”

It is reported that more than 200,000 units of the Vision Pro, priced at $3,500, were sold in pre-sale that began on the 19th of last month. Experts predict that sales this year will reach around 500,000 units.
