In another tweet, the Twitter CEO called it “doxing“and of”breach of physical security“the fact of real-time sharing of publicly available flight datathe disclosure of which is required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
“Any account that provides real-time location information about someone will be suspended, as it is a violation of physical security. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location information. Posting places someone has traveled to with a slight delay it’s not a safety issue, so it’s okay,” the entrepreneur shares on his personal account on the social network.
New Twitter Policy
In a statement explaining the reasons behind this latest privacy policy change, Twitter said: “When someone shares a person’s live location on Twitter, the risk of bodily harm increases. From now on, we will remove comments that share this information and accounts dedicated to sharing another person’s live location will be suspended.”
Without mentioning Musk, Marc Andreessen, venture capitalist and co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz, criticized the new policy, tweeting: “For me, suppressing my personal information means protecting my physical safety. Deleting your personal information is an unacceptable violation of freedom of expression«.
