Elisa, killed by dogs, in France: Curtis, her dog, could be euthanized because of her behavior

Elisa Pilarski, a 29-year-old pregnant woman, was killed in late November last by dogs in the forest of Retz (Aisne) in France while she was walking her own in an area where a hunt was organized. While the DNA test results will not be known until February, his companion gives news of Curtis, the dog who accompanied Elisa the day of the drama. Christophe, Elisa’s companion, explains today that he wants to hire a lawyer, according to BFMTV. He fears that Curtis, an American Staffordshire, will be euthanized. As a reminder, when Elisa’s body was discovered, Curtis, injured, had been found on the trunk of his mistress.

Confined in a box surrounded by barking dogs

Since the tragedy, the American Staff ‘has been placed under judicial requisition in an animal pound in Beauvais. On site, he displayed aggressive behavior. If his behavior is not satisfactory, he could be euthanized. A decision that Christophe wants to avoid at all costs, who therefore wishes to hire a lawyer specializing in animal rights. He details: “We were told of quarantine following his injuries, but an incident independent of the drama would have resulted in a biting dog procedure and he will soon have to undergo a behavioral assessment. We are trying to transfer him from this pound from the start, to a structure specializing in the rehabilitation of traumatized dogs using positive methods, so that he can benefit from a peaceful environment better suited to his situation“, explains Christophe on Facebook.

He pursues: “We do not receive any more news and our doubts are focused on the psychological state of Curtis, having lost all his bearings, experienced a heavy trauma, confined in a box surrounded by dogs which bark all day. How to hope for an objective evaluation in a such context“asks Christophe again.

An online kitty has been created on the ‘Leetchi’ platform in order to collect the funds necessary to pay lawyers’ fees and the transfer of the dog to a structure specialized in the rehabilitation of traumatized dogs.
