Eleven infected in a COVID outbreak in the La Palma Volcano Emergency Military Unit | Radio Club Tenerife

Confirmed an outbreak of COVID in the Military Emergency Unit (UME) that takes care of the work of the La Palma volcano. All have mild symptoms and maintain isolation. There are 11 confirmed cases. The lieutenant responsible for medical tasks has confirmed to the SER that all have been screened and for the moment, the emergency is not committed because they have been relieved.

The facilities at the El Fuerte barracks, in Santa Cruz de La Palma, are spacious and allow for this isolation. The outbreak began with three related cases and has extended to 11. Although they are still being screened in case the outbreak spreads even further, the situation is controlled according to UME commands.

The situation on the Canary Island continues to be marked by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
