Elephants trample suspected poacher in Kruger Park

That reports the operator of the park, South African National Parks, today on their site.

The rangers picked up one accomplice. He said that the first man had probably been trampled by the herd. The other suspect is still on the run. This man is said to have been injured in the eye.

According to the manager of the Kruger Park, the poachers were looking for rhinos. The park is one of South Africa’s premier safari destinations and one of the continent’s largest game reserves, known for its elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards and buffalo.

It is not the first time that a poacher has been killed at the hands of an elephant. In 2019 an elephant got hold of a poacher, after which the man fell prey to lions. Only his remains were later found.
