The number of Dutch people with a brain disorder, such as dementia or a stroke, will rise explosively in the coming years. Parkinson’s disease will even rise by 70% to nearly 83,000 patients in 2040, the Brain Foundation announced last week. Janet Gransbergen (53) hopes for a better quality of life through an operation in which electrodes are placed in the brain.
