New York (VNA) – As part of the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS 2022), VinFast and Electrify America announced on April 14 (Vietnamese time) an agreement to provide owners of electric vehicles VinFast access to charging stations d’Electrify America in the United States with two free charging sessions.
Electrify America, the largest open ultra-fast charging network in the United Stateshas 800 electric vehicle stations and approximately 3,500 ultra-fast personal chargers in the United States, enabling high-speed charging of up to 350 kilowatts (kW) for certain vehicle models.
This cooperation confirms VinFast’s determination to enter the US market, providing a smart driving experience for all customers.
Notably, customers who own VinFast’s VF8 and VF9 will benefit from the smart Plug & Charge feature to connect to Electrify America’s network of ultra-fast charging stations across the United States. It is an advanced technology that allows vehicle drivers to pay for each charging session simply by plugging the charger into the electric vehicle, with only one installation completion on the VinFast app.
On March 29, VinFast and North Carolina state authorities signed a memorandum of understanding to build the first VinFast car factory in the North American market.
Representing an investment of 2 billion dollars for the first phase, the VinFast factory will be installed in the industrial zone of Triangle Innovation Point on an area of 800 ha. The plant will start construction in 2022 and enter service in July 2024, with a planned capacity of 150,000 cars per year. -VNA
