On the night of Sunday, the police report that a woman in her 80s has been sent to Kalnes hospital, after a man in his 20s attacked her in Fredrikstad in Østfold.
According to the police, the man must have entered the woman’s apartment by breaking the front door.
– The man has also been inside other homes prior to this. He has stolen, among other things, wallets, says operations manager Finn Aas to NRK at 05:00.

He says that the man was in possession of a knife, but that the woman was injured by blunt force. The police cannot yet say anything about the extent of the damage.
– The man has been arrested and will be brought to the emergency room to assess possible intoxication, or whether there is any psychiatry, says Aas.
The police state that there is no indication of a relationship between the woman and the man. The motive is currently unclear.
– It is an ugly case when elderly people are attacked in their homes in the middle of the night, says Aas.
