I wanted to forget about this modern obsession with hygiene, because the subject of hygiene is very modern”, he commented.
“These people are living in the middle of nowhere on a ranch and they only wash every several months, they go into the river. It’s not washing either, it’s a kind of religious ritual when they go into the river. It’s true that for five days, until my family arrived from New Zealand, I went without washing. It’s very strange,” admitted the artist, who assured that he felt very uncomfortable.
