Ekstraklasa: Silesia – Lech, exchange of blows in Wroclaw, report

It is true that both teams had before this meeting illusory chances for the Polish championship, but as they oscillate around a statistical error, no one in Poznan or Wroclaw did not refer to this topic. Both Lech and Silesia are focused on fighting for medals, and in this case the matter is not yet decided. In a slightly better situation was Kolejorz, which was ahead of Sunday’s rival by one point, but both teams still had to play five matches.

Especially in the first half players of both teams had to deal with water lying on the pitch. This was of great importance for Christian Gytkjaer’s goal in the 17th minute. Jakub Kamiński got the ball outside the penalty area, easily beat Marek Tamas and hit next to Matus Putnocky. Kamil Dankowski hurried to intervene, but he was interrupted by a successful puddle of water. The most effective shooter PKO Ekstraklasa immediately hit the ball and directed it into the net.

For Lech it could only be a leveling goal if Przemysław Płacheta took advantage of the opportunity to score in the third minute. The hero of the last match (two goals and assist in the 3-2 win against Cracovia) hit from an acute angle, but Mickey van der Hart was at the station. The brilliant winger could have frightened the Dutch goalkeeper before the break, but Tymoteusz Puchacz came in to help the latter, who blocked a dangerous blow from his opponent.

After changing sides, Silesia attacked a bit bolder. In the 53rd minute Krzysztof Mączyński brilliantly started Robert Pich’s pass, but again Van der Hart was not surprised. A few moments later, the goalkeeper of Lech had to come out of a lot of trouble again, this time steaming the ball after Dankowski’s powerful shot. Kolejorz fans could also be very dissatisfied, because Gytkjaer saw the fourth yellow card of the season, which excludes him from the next match, the hit with Legia Warsaw.

Less than a quarter of an hour before the end of the meeting, the residents of Wrocław completed theirs. Mączyński crossed the free kick perfectly and Israel Puerto added a leg and gave Van der Hart no chance.

However, only a few minutes passed and the fans of Silesia gathered in the stadium experienced consternation. After being hit by Kamiński’s roll, the ball bounced off Puerto’s hand. The judge checked the situation on video and ruled that the Spaniard had committed an offense. This event was extremely difficult to assess, after all, the hand of the Silesian stopwatch was shot from a short distance.

Jakub Moder certainly did not have such dilemmas, who approached the ball set on the 11th meter. The 21-year-old fired a strong blow to the left corner, and although Putnocky lunged in the right direction, he had no chance of effective intervention.

It was not the end of emotions in this meeting. Just three minutes later Jakub Łabojko closed Mączyński’s corner from a corner kick and with a volley shot led to a draw.

The draw is not satisfactory to either side, but both teams maintained their positions before this queue. Lech is still in third place and ahead of Silesia by one point.
