Photo: Rainer Weis Mayor Christian Holzinger explained a plan for how a reactivation of the Mainschleife Railway for regular local public transport (ÖPNV) and local rail passenger transport (SPNV) could work with extensive construction and renovation work with a possible start of operation on 01/01/2026. This applies in particular to the train stops, the level crossings and the necessary switches at Seligenstadt station. Because while the municipalities of Volkach, Eisenheim and Prosselsheim are responsible for the transport connections and Park & Ride areas, a new company has to be founded to improve the infrastructure. The existing Main-Schleifen-Bahn Betriebs GmbH (MSB) is currently geared towards tourist traffic and, due to historical reasons, has shareholders who cannot fulfill this new task, which involves enormous financial expense. However, the MSB is still required for tourist traffic. So it must remain. Community involvement Since the rail route runs roughly half in each of the two districts of Würzburg and Kitzingen, the company shares of the new company will also be distributed accordingly. The involvement of the three communities concerned and the MSB funding association makes sense. The municipal enterprise of the district (KU) becomes a shareholder in the district of Würzburg, as it has been transferred to it by the company statutes of public transport. As a result, the future partners are made up as follows: 35 percent each of the district of Kitzingen and KU Würzburg, ten percent of the city of Volkach and five percent each of the municipalities of Eisenheim and Prosselsheim as well as ten percent of the Förderverein-MSB. Furthermore, the district of Kitzingen and the KU provide a managing director. The two main shareholders bear any losses. A total of 100,000 euros are to be brought in as start-up capital in the new establishment of the infrastructure company Mainschleifenbahn GmbH. For the municipality of Eisenheim, this means that with its five percent stake, it brings an amount of 5000 euros into the start-up capital of the GmbH. Installation of a Y-switch It is planned to install a Y-turnout in Seligenstadt, so that you can get through it to the DB railway line Schweinfurt-Würzburg and thus drive directly from Volkach via Seligenstadt to Würzburg every hour. This would not only be a very environmentally friendly solution, but also greatly relieve traffic in the direction of Würzburg. The municipal councils unanimously agreed to be involved in the foundation of the new society in order to perceive a unique historical event in the interests of the citizens. The mayor also informed that the follow-up costs for securing the level crossings are 90 percent eligible. The Park & Ride parking spaces and the entrances to the platforms are the responsibility of the municipality. – Eisenheim Rainer Weis Train stations construction Mayor and Mayor Historical events Local transport Renovation work Railroad tracks Cities traffic Public transportation – – – Related posts:"Get Ready to Tear Up the Streets: Need for Speed Unbound Volumen 2 Offers New Features and Rewards"Pau, Limoges… listed here are the cities with a lot more than 40,000 inhabitants in which it is incr...Dominic Thiem Undergoes Medical Examination at Red Bull in Salzburg Following US Open WithdrawalNew York Metropolitan Opera cancels entire 2020-21 season, financial shockShare this:FacebookX Related An obstacle to the transfer of Argentine Beria to Sporting Lisbon – Coura Edition Thionville – Hayange | Michel Liebgott begins his sixth term Leave a Comment Cancel replyCommentName Email Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
