Makoto Hasebe extends his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt by another year. From 2024, the Japanese will remain with the club in a new role.
Frankfurt am Main – The eternal Japanese: Makoto Hasebe, at 38, the oldest in this Bundesliga season deployed professional soccer player, attached Eintracht Frankfurt one more year to go.

The Japanese contract, which expires in the summer, has been extended, as the Hessians announced on Friday. After another year as a player until 2023, Hasebe should have a position on the coaching team. The defender was tied to the club until 2027.
Hasebe came to the Main in 2014 from 1. FC Nürnberg. The 114-time national player has made 256 appearances for Eintracht so far, including 19 games in all competitions this season.
He was recently absent due to a chest injury, but is back in team training.
