They will remember their weekend in Touraine. Eight young people, who were descending the Loire in a canoe, fell into the water this Saturday evening in Amboise. At the time of the alert, around 7.40 p.m., one of the canoeists had disappeared. Finally, more fear than harm: all the young people could be found and brought back to the shore safe and sound.
We do not yet know why the four boats capsized, but the fairly strong current of the Loire may have contributed. The young people, originally from Brittany, were also alcoholic, according to the observations of the gendarmerie on the spot.
Significant relief resources were deployed, including ten vehicles and 20 firefighters were mobilized.
