Eight new corona patients in Haarlemmermeer

HAARLEMMERMEER The number of officially diagnosed coronavirus infections (COVID-19) has increased from 45 to 53 in Haarlemmermeer, according to the daily update of RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment).

REGION New infections have also been registered in municipalities around Haarlemmermeer since yesterday. According to the RIVM figures, Amsterdam now has 530 officially diagnosed coronavirus infections (was 477), Amstelveen 75 (was 63), Aalsmeer 17 (was 16), Haarlem 81 (was 73), and Kaag en Braassem 6.

RURAL Nationally, the number of registered infections with the coronavirus has risen from 9,762 to 10,866. Since the outbreak of the virus, 771 people nationwide have died of the disease. That is an increase of 112 compared to yesterday. On Monday, the municipality of Amstelveen announced that a 69 inhabitant died on Sunday March 22 from the consequences of infection with the corona virus. It concerned a woman with an already fragile health.

TEST POLICY The actual number of infections with the coronavirus is higher because the RIVM has amended the test policy and by no means all people with symptoms of disease are tested. This means a cautious test policy for GP patients. If a patient with a syndrome suspected of corona is referred to the hospital, a test will be performed in the hospital. Only in very exceptional cases can a general practitioner have a patient tested in consultation with the GGD and the laboratory.

In healthcare institutions, testing is aimed at establishing the introduction of the virus in the healthcare institution. As soon as 1 to 2 patients are tested positive, no further tests are performed and the corona measures for care institutions are initiated.

MAP The map below shows registered infections of the new coronavirus in the Netherlands. The data is updated once a day and comes from RIVM.
