In a shooting near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, eight people were injured on Friday afternoon (local time). The local police have reported this. The perpetrator could not yet be arrested.

Police received a call early in the afternoon about gunfire at the Mayfair Mall, Wauwatosa town. “When the emergency services arrived, the shooter was no longer on the scene,” Wauwatosa police said in a communiqué. The police then warned that the danger had not yet passed and called on the population to stay away from the shopping center.

According to authorities, seven adults and a teenager were taken to hospital. Nothing is yet known about the nature of their injuries. However, the mayor of Wauwatosa, Dennis McBride, informed ABC News that the victims would not be in danger of death.

The perpetrator could not yet be identified, but it would be “a white man in his 20s or 30s,” police said.
