Egyptian Health Minister Prepares to Receive Injured Palestinians from Gaza Aggression

Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar confirmed on Saturday that there are great preparations to receive Palestinians injured as a result of the brutal aggression on Gaza.

Abdel Ghaffar added, during a press conference in Al-Arish regarding the details of the treatment of injured Palestinians, that Egypt receives a large number of cases every day and that the infections are serious, and that most of the cases are children, youth and women, with a percentage of more than 70 percent of the existing cases.

He pointed out that the injuries ranged from fractures, shrapnel, fractured skull, and amputation of limbs for ages ranging between 15 and 16 years, including children aged 8 and 9 years, some of whom lost their entire family, and some of them lost a member of their family.

The Minister of Health and Population confirmed that doctors in all hospitals are working day and night to relieve the pain of those afflicted by the brutal military operations in Gaza.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is keen to provide full support to the injured Palestinians, regardless of the cost, capabilities, and efforts provided to them, and full and unlimited support is given to the injured, as the president follows up daily and monitors the cases and the procedures that have been taken for them.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the plan drawn up by the Ministry of Health and Population since the beginning of the crisis is being implemented well, whether through the ambulance service providing 150 ambulances present on a daily basis at the Rafah crossing in preparation for receiving cases for diagnosis and dealing with them, then moving to qualified places, expressing his thanks to the technical crews from Doctors, nursing staff, administrators, and hospital administration must deal with the usual patriotic sense in these crises.

Abdel Ghaffar explained that a number of hospitals were allocated to deal with the injured, both in the North Sinai sector (Bir al-Abd, Al-Arish General Hospital, and Sheikh Zuweid), in addition to the Canal Governorates sector, where some cases were sent to Port Said Private Hospital (cases of shrapnel in the eyes), as well as Al-Nujaila Hospital. And the Ismailia General Complex, in addition to the Nasser Institute, and preparations are underway to receive burn patients at Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Specialized Hospital.

He stressed that the Ministry of Health receives cases and seeks to deal with the largest number requested from it.

The Minister of Health said that Egyptian hospitals receive from 40 to 50 cases daily, and we can receive more than that, but the one who controls the numbers is the other side, which coordinates with the Egyptian Red Crescent, adding that Egypt is prepared to receive many times more cases on a daily basis, and these are being dealt with. We handle cases efficiently and professionally in light of the injuries we see.

Abdel Ghaffar added that Egypt appreciates the situation with the committee specializing in the Gaza crisis with the presence of all concerned parties, noting that Egypt has a very large absorptive capacity, in North Sinai, and there are existing cases in Ismailia, Port Said, and Cairo, and we have provided all the capabilities available from the Egyptian state to the brothers in Palestine without being restricted by the number of cases. And countries that want help to alleviate suffering.

The Minister of Health indicated that many of the injured are going through psychological suffering that is no less than the medical suffering that they suffer from, adding that from the first arrival of the patient, he is received by an ambulance, the cases are sorted from the first moment and he is transferred according to his health condition to the hospital that has the capabilities and medical staff to deal with it. the condition.

He pointed out that more than 40 to 50 very advanced surgeries were performed on injured children and women, adding that surgeries related to wars and explosions are severe and difficult, as there are cases with shrapnel in the brain that affects perception and movement when they are children, in addition to the presence of cases Amputation and laceration of internal tissues such as the lung, all of which are difficult surgeries.
