The Egyptian authorities decided to prevent people suffering from several diseases, including obesity, from traveling to perform Hajj for this year.

And in its requirements to apply for Hajj, which will continue until next March 6, the Ministry of Interior decided to ban the travel of several groups to perform the Hajj rituals for this year, as they are the most vulnerable to the risks of infection, according to the controls approved by the Ministry of Health.

She stated that these categories are patients with kidney failure whose treatment requires dialysis sessions, patients with lung fibrosis, cases of morbid obesity, advanced cases of cardiovascular disease, liver cirrhosis and tumors, pregnant women in the first and last months, and those with mental illnesses and Alzheimer’s, according to approved medical reports.

The Ministry stipulated that the immunization be completed with basic doses, along with a booster dose for internationally approved vaccines against the Corona virus, and that a copy of the certificate for that vaccination be provided to the General Administration of Administrative Affairs as a condition for obtaining a visa.

The Ministry decided to allocate 3% of Hajj visas to the oldest applicants and their companions, if any, in each security directorate separately.

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior stipulated that in the case of an elderly couple, both of whom are 70 years or more, or people of determination – as an exception, they are required to accompany them with only one companion from relatives up to the fourth degree, provided that he enjoys a good health condition, to be able to care for them in terms of health and age.
