This campaign, which includes all Egyptian governorates, comes to cut off the path for violators, who are seeking to exploit the state’s preoccupation with facing the Corona epidemic to achieve material profits.

State agencies began to implement the law against violators of the building code, sometimes from infringing on state lands, and by exceeding the legally defined height limits, at other times.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has previously spoken of this behavior, saying it is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the state.

“Where is the planning? Where are the licenses? This is dangerous talk. No one should think that the state is busy with Corona, and thus will turn a blind eye to violators of the building code.”

This statement was the starting signal for launching campaigns to remove unlicensed buildings in all governorates.

For his part, Hani Younis, a spokesman for the Council of Ministers, told “Sky News Arabia”, that “5,700 cases of infringements were dealt with, whether they violated or infringed on state property.”

It is noteworthy that the removal will not be the only measure in the face of indiscriminate construction, as the military prosecution awaits violators of the building law, which prohibits conciliation in violations of construction safety or requirements to defend the state or exceeds the height restrictions set by the civil aviation authority.
