One of the Konawe Resort Police’s efforts to eradicate or prevent Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) is to carry out fogging or fumigation to kill mosquitoes, Tuesday (13/02/2024).
Apart from that, the Konawe Police Endra Dharmalaksana Clinic always holds general health education for the community.
As part of this prevention, the Endra Dharmalaksana Clinic again carried out fogging at the Konawe Police Headquarters and the District Social Service housing complex. Konawe also targeted several residents’ houses.
According to PS. Head of the Konawe Police Department of Health, Aipda Syafruddin, SH sprayed the Social Service housing because it was used as accommodation for the Southeast Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade personnel in order to secure the 2024 general election stages.
“Before spraying, start by giving Abate powder to the water reservoir to kill mosquitoes and mosquito larvae that cause dengue fever,” explained Aipda Syafruddin, SH.
Regarding the purpose of carrying out fogging, the Head of Health Services explained that it is one way to prevent dengue fever (DHF) on a mass scale by spraying mosquito repellent which is able to reach a wider area.
In anticipating the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD), the Konawe Police have provided understanding or outreach to both National Police personnel and the general public, including providing medicines and carrying out supervision.
