Education today embraces the victims of the armed conflict in Valledupar

This April 9 a new year is celebrated National Day of Memory and Solidarity with the Victims of the Armed Conflict; On this date it has been developed from Law 1448 in its article 142, through acts of recognition and memory throughout the country.

Mario José Ríos, Cesar Guajira territorial director of the Victims Unit, In dialogue with EL PILÓN he stated that: “On this occasion we are going to count on education, especially from the Ministry of Education and our general director Patricia Tobón. This seeks to point out, commemorate and remember each of the victimizing events, because education has suffered due to the armed conflict. Education has been a very affected part of the conflict, but it is also fundamental, especially to remember all those historical memories that have happened.”

The leader added that in the act of commemoration and dignity for the victims, around 365 letters of compensation will be delivered, the accumulated value of which will be 3,000 million pesos.

In the framework of education, the Government of Cesar, through the Peace Advisory Office and the Ministry of Education of the department, has issued a circular under which it gives a guideline for 180 Educational Institutions this April 9 to expand with students the message of ‘9 million stories not to repeat’.

COMMEMORATION ACT IN VALLEDUPAR

In the capital of Cesar, the commemoration events will take place starting at 8 am, in the Rafael Carrillo Lúquez Departmental Library. At the same time, the Victims Unit will transfer attention to the Regional Center (former UAO) so that until 4 pm the population receives attention and guidance on their processes.

The commemoration will begin in Valledupar, from eight in the morning at the Rafael Carrillo Lúquez Departmental Library the SENA Regional Cesar Employment Fair will be held. Parallel to this, the institutions in the morning hours will carry out the ‘Education embraces the victims’ strategy. For the department, the main action will be in the municipality of La Paz, at the San José Educational Institution campus (9 am); The municipality of Valledupar will also promote activity in a school in the city.

Starting at 2 pm, in the Consuelo Araújo Auditorium of the Rafael Carrillo Library, the formal events will be held, a commemoration space where with heartfelt acts the institutions, in accordance with the Effective Participation Tables of Victims, will honor the memory of this population and will raise their voices for the effective enjoyment of their rights and guarantees of non-repetition.

The Government of Cesar, the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar, the Victims Unit, the Special Jurisdiction for La Paz, the JEP, the National Police, the Land Restitution Unit, the Learning Service, SENA and the Agency for Reincorporation will participate in this event in an articulated manner. and Normalization.

“El Cesar has a moral commitment to the victims of the conflict because here in our department about 30% of the entire population is a victim of the conflict. It is commendable that the entities came together to make this commemoration, which not only leads us to remember all those situations of pain that have caused the conflict, but also leads us to recognize how the victims of the conflict have been able to overcome that pain. and today they have been participating in different social spaces,” declared Juana Pacheco Soto, Paz advisor.
