Gynecologists are also sacrificing to the big trend of the moment: teleconsultation, a medical practice that is now well established in their customs. “We were all reluctant before the Covid-19, says the practitioner. However, this virtual exchange has limits. The head of service insists: “Pregnant women absolutely must not suspend their pregnancy monitoring. “Follow-up which can only be carried out within the framework of a traditional consultation. The anxiety-provoking nature of this health crisis has the effect, in some cases, of sowing doubt in the minds of the public concerned: “Some are afraid to consult. It is up to us to reassure them. Generally speaking, we take the time, more time during consultations to manage their stress. “This care can be explained by the disappearance of the preparation time for childbirth, the time obviously no longer being so reassuring in group lessons:” We also respond to their requests by email and telephone. In short, we are trying to make ourselves as available as possible. “

And they benefit from close monitoring carried out via Lifen, the platform intended for carriers of the virus: “Heart rate, temperature readings, etc. This app allows you to fulfill a lot of criteria. We also do not refrain from exchanging by SMS or by simple phone call ”

In the name of the fathers
Very often, fathers see their role as an attendant abruptly stopping childbirth. Worse still, in these days of crisis, he confined himself to the delivery room only: “They are no longer allowed to participate in the latest ultrasounds or in the post-delivery period. What to raise tensions? “No, absolutely not,” says Marie-France Olieric. We are facing an understanding audience ”. Hugging your baby may take a few days. After all, in this case, confinement will have less of this virtue: to deepen the “father-child” presentations.
