Edition Thionville – Hayange | Broken face, kidnapping: the condemned companion

Open browbones, broken nose, swollen face: the victim was prescribed ten days of total incapacity for work. Monday, April 20, this woman was struck by her companion who also lives in the Amli home in Fameck. Both are under curatorship. They socialize, in particular share alcoholic moments. Their last evening degenerated. The victim says that he punched her several times and threatened her with a knife. He kidnapped her and threw her phone into the toilet. She finally managed to warn a neighbor.

The victim did not file a complaint. The 50-year-old man was however tried on Thursday April 23 by the Thionville criminal court, in immediate appearance. He was heard by videoconference from the prison where he is placed from his police custody. He considers that he defended himself to resist the assaults of his companion. He also explains that the phone fell into the toilet by accident.

Firm response from the court

Johnny Hery is already known to the justice system, convicted in 2017 for violence committed while intoxicated. He is acquitted for the facts of death threats, failing to be able to prove them materially. However, the court’s response is firm. The repeat offender is sentenced to two years in prison for aggravated violence and forcible confinement. He remains in detention. He can still appeal.
