ENNS. At the annual general meeting of the Linz-Land women’s network, Edith Jochinger from Enns was elected as the new chairwoman. Jochinger succeeds the former member of the National Council Claudia Durchschlag, who has retired from this position after twelve years.

Together with her team and Christine Baumgartner as managing director, she will continue the successful work of the organization. “It is of central concern to me to stand up for women in difficult life situations. But families in need are also particularly close to my heart as a teacher, ”said the newly elected chairwoman. Jochinger is fully recognized for the work of Christine Baumgartner in this regard, who runs an important social point of contact with the women’s network. She wants to continue and expand this together with her team, which also includes her deputy city councilor Marieluise Metlagel. “The corona situation in particular has shown how difficult it is for many women, financially and emotionally, to cope with such a crisis. Expert help from a low-threshold contact point can go a long way towards coping with the problem, ”said Christine Baumgartner. The newly elected chairwoman, Claudia Durchschlag, would like to express a special thank you to her predecessor. “With great commitment, she achieved a lot for the women in the Linz-Land district,” said Jochinger.
