Eddy L. Harris, born in Indianapolis in 1956, chose France as his anchor point. He is the author of several books such as Harlem, Jupiter et moi and Paris en noir et black. His first Mississippi Solo story, published 30 years ago in the United States, was published for the first time in France by Liana Levi editions.

“The Mississippi. A mythical river that descends from Lake Itasca in Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico, passing through Saint-Louis and New Orleans. Impetuous and dangerous, it carries silver fish, torn tree branches , tons of mud, but also the history of the country and the adventure dreams of its inhabitants. At the age of thirty, Eddy decides to answer the call of the Old Man River, to follow by canoe his fascinating journey to probe the heart of America and his own, while taking the measure of racism, he who has never really experienced as a Black. In passing, he will experience the power of the elements, the camaraderie of boatmen, the admiration of the curious or the animosity of tipsy hunters. But also the fear and the happiness of being alone. He will come out of it rich with new strength and a founding book, published in France for the first time. ” (Presentation of Liana Levi editions)
