Economy. Containment: the municipality launches a “digital pack” to support traders

This is a strong commitment from Mayor Pierre Cuny since the confinement and closure of businesses: the City has decided to support merchants and assist them in maintaining their activity thanks to digital technology. Thierry Ghezzi, Carol Thil, Lucas Grandjean, elected municipal officials in charge of commerce, participatory democracy and digital technology have therefore worked on digital solutions dedicated to merchants, in particular click & collect, in order to help them keep an activity and to save the turnover at the end of the year.

The City of Thionville is therefore setting up a “digital retail pack” aimed at accompanying, supporting and encouraging retailers to adopt a digital strategy allowing them to continue their activity. This digital pack has been in place since Thursday, November 12.

It is managed by the business manager of the City of Thionville in collaboration with Thi’Pi, the digital hub of the Portes de France Thionville agglomeration community.

Promote on the internet

This pack will allow traders several alternatives. First, the choice and use of a Click & Collect platform, like the existing Thionville Shop platform. Support, technical and logistical support towards click and collect will be offered. A diagnosis of the digital needs and possibilities of the activity is also possible.

A connection will be made with local digital players to develop solutions adapted to each: website, SEO, etc. Support for the use of social networks to promote businesses and products will also be provided. Because if it is obvious that a hairdresser, for example, cannot benefit from the advantages of click and collect for what is his core business, he can on the other hand promote his salon on the internet or sell hair products. to take away.

Finally, the merchant will find in this digital pack visibility on the Thionville Commerces site created by the City of Thionville, where innovative solutions, such as Le Grand Resto Thionvillois, are highlighted.
