Ebreichsdorf – Car driver hit and seriously injured while attempting to tow car

A car driver left the main road due to snow drifts and landed his vehicle in an adjacent field. Attempts to get back on the road failed.

But instead of alerting the fire department, the man called a friend for help, who arrived at the scene of the accident a short time later with a third person. The three men were trying to attach a tension belt to the crashed car and the second vehicle when suddenly a third car approached the men at high speed.

This car hit the car with hazard lights on the left side of the road and threw it about 20 meters further onto the road. The vehicle then hit one of the two men who was standing between the cars and threw him to the ground, seriously injured. The second man was just able to save himself by jumping to the side. The third was also injured in the hand.

The men put the seriously injured man, the man who had previously come off the road in his car, into his vehicle and looked after him until the emergency services arrived. Together with the Oberwaltersdorf fire department, they had to rescue the man from the vehicle with a spineboard.

The man was taken to hospital in Wiener Neustadt with serious injuries by the Ebreichsdorf Samaritan Association and an emergency doctor. The second injured person and the driver who drove into the scene of the accident were injured to an unspecified degree and were transported to the hospital in Baden by the Red Cross.

The locally responsible Ebreichsdorf fire department had to rescue all three vehicles. The B210 was closed to traffic for around 1.5 hours.
