EasyJet is expanding capacity slightly for the remaining summer months | NOW

In the coming months, EasyJet will fly at 40 percent instead of the previously planned 30 percent of its usual capacity. The bookings are picking up faster than expected, the company announced on Tuesday when the quarterly figures were presented.

The other major low-cost providers in Europe have taken even greater steps towards full utilization. Wizz Air says it is already at 70 percent and Ryanair initially wanted to go there in September.

The latter company did withdraw that goal last week, due to an increase in the number of corona cases.

EasyJet also expects the loss in the fourth quarter to be lower than in the first three quarters of the broken financial year. In the nine months to June, the company lost nearly £ 325 million (€ 360 million).

Society has been severely affected by the corona crisis. The company has had to cut more than 3,000 jobs, some 30 percent of the total workforce.
