DISEASE Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) often occurs along with the transition season. The reason is, the rain and heat that occur often cause puddles of water that are used as mosquito nests.
The danger is that the mosquitoes that nest can be Aedes aegypti. Usually, these mosquitoes act in the afternoon or evening. In addition, another cause is the Aedes albopictus mosquito.
The spread of dengue disease occurs through the bite of the mosquito when it carries the infection to other people after biting a previously infected person. In fact, if someone has experienced dengue fever before, there is still a chance of getting this disease again.
After the bite of a mosquito carrying the dengue virus, there will be an incubation period of about 4 days until a fever or other signs and symptoms show that a person has dengue.
The Internal Medicine Specialist at Omni Hospitals Alam Sutera, Sandy Perkasa, said that the main symptom of this disease is a sudden fever. In addition, headaches, redness of the skin surface, and pain in the muscles and body.
“Dengue fever does not have to show symptoms such as red spots on the surface of the skin,” he said.
